Paradise - Coldplay
When she was just a girl
she expected the world
but it flew away from her reach so
she ran away in her sleep
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky you’ll get by.
If you smile through your pain and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through
Most of the time, I like maintaining peace. I avoid conflict, force smiles at things friends say or do that slightly irritate me, because I know (not think, not speculate, but know) that they blow over, that they don’t matter in the scheme of things. And if I were to let my irritation show, things just become awkward and difficult.
But when you avoid things too much, you risk going down that slippery slope into uncaring detachment about things that matter. The sum of your look-the-other-ways become a part of your personality, and you turn into someone who becomes afraid to stand up for things. And I certainly do not intend to turn into one of those people.
So I guess, in the end it just comes down to choosing your battles wisely.
Don’t let those that are worth the fight slip past.

I just watched Midnight in Paris, and now I can only listen to this sort of music.
